European Foundry Industry Sentiment Indicator (FISI) with a continuous improvement in June 2025.

The European Foundry Industry Sentiment Indicator (FISI), conducted monthly by the European Foundry Federation, showed a consecutive improvement in June 2025, reaching a decent level of 97.6 index points, increasing by 2.9 point since previous month.

Observing the current level of castings’ production and expectations for the upcoming months in EFF member countries, there can be seen an improvement and an optimism in both ferrous and non-ferrous sectors — the feelings that have long been expected by the European foundry industry.

At the same time, in June 2025, the Business Climate Indicator (BCI), an index published by European Commission dropped to the level of ‑0,78, with the previous score of — 0.55 in May 2025.

The Eurozone Manufacturing PMI in July 2025 reached a level of 49.8, increasing by 0.4 point from 49.4 in June 2025.

Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) in the Euro area is an indicator of the economic health of the manufacturing sector. It is based on such indicators as: new orders, inventory levels, production, supplier deliveries and the employment environment.

Being in the middle of holiday season, EFF is constantly monitoring the situation in the European foundry industry, waiting for the next performance scores, which will show whether the recent production increases will be maintained

The FISI – European Foundry Industry Sentiment Indicator – is the earliest available composite indicator providing information on the European foundry industry performance. It is published by EFF —  European Foundry Federation every month and is based on survey responses of the European foundry industry. The EFF members are asked to give their assessment of the current business situation in the foundry sector and their expectations for the next six months.

The BCI – Business Climate Indicator – is an indicator published by the European Commission. The BCI evaluates development conditions of the manufacturing sector in the euro area every month and uses five balances of opinion from industry survey: production trends, order books, export order books, stocks and production expectations.
